In brief
Capsens is expanding its expertise beyond custom software development and launching a new outsourced service for producing French Imprimés Fiscaux Uniques (IFU). Designed for companies distributing capital income—particularly crowdfunding platforms in lending and equity—this service combines automation, artificial intelligence, and regulatory compliance. Integrated with Sage for e-filing, it simplifies and secures a process often seen as error-prone and time-consuming.
About Capsens
Capsens is a web agency specialized in building financial platforms. Since 2013, it has been designing tailor-made digital solutions for fintechs, asset management firms, and crowdfunding platforms.
Based in Paris, the company now employs 70 experts in fintech, UX/UI design, data engineering, and web development, who guide their clients throughout their digital transformation. Over the years, Capsens has become a strategic technology partner for many European fintechs, particularly in online savings, private equity, and Ruby on Rails development.
This new service naturally extends that expertise: delivering practical, business-oriented solutions to the real-world challenges faced by financial players.
About IFUs
The Imprimé Fiscal Unique (IFU) is a mandatory tax document that institutions paying out capital income must send annually to the French tax administration.
It lists income paid to individuals (interest, dividends, capital gains, etc.) and specifies any withholding taxes and social contributions applied. The document allows the French tax authority (DGFiP) to pre-fill taxpayers’ income declarations.
In practice, IFU generation relies on form CERFA no. 2561, a complex declaration whose structure varies depending on the type of income and recipient profile. The form is updated annually by the tax authorities. Even a minor error or omission can result in e-filing anomalies and, ultimately, tax adjustments.
Why crowdfunding platforms are affected
Crowdfunding platforms in lending (crowdlending) and equity are directly subject to this requirement.
- Lending platforms distribute interest to individual lenders, classified as capital income.
- Equity platforms distribute dividends or capital gains to their investors.
In both cases, they act as paying institutions and must therefore produce IFUs for all investors.
Every year, during the tax reporting period (typically between January and February), these platforms must aggregate transactional data, calculate taxable amounts, apply the correct tax and social contributions, and generate and file IFUs for each investor.
Although administrative in nature, this task often consumes significant internal resources. Teams must juggle internal databases, Excel files, CERFA templates, and data validation checks, all while complying with strict tax deadlines.
Eight years of IFU experience
For several years, Capsens has supported its long-standing clients in producing their IFUs. The agency has developed scripts, tools, and internal processes to automate report generation and ensure full compliance.
Among the platforms that already rely on Capsens for this task are:
 Raizers, La Première Brique, Fundimmo, and Wevest.
These collaborations have enabled Capsens to build deep operational expertise in taxation related to income distributed through financial platforms.
A service now open to all companies
Leveraging this experience, Capsens now offers its IFU outsourcing service to all companies involved in capital income distribution—fintechs, holding companies, asset managers, and private equity firms alike.
The agency has developed an AI-powered internal tool that assists at every step of the process:
- Direct connection to client data (via API, accounting exports, or Excel files);
- Automated analysis and consistency checks (holder, gross amount, applicable tax rates, etc.);
- Automatic generation of CERFA no. 2561 files in the DGFiP-compliant format;
- Data validation before submission through automated cross-checks.
Thanks to this industrialized workflow, IFU generation becomes reliable, fast, and secure, minimizing the risk of human error.
Artificial intelligence helps detect anomalies, identify commune codes, categorize income types, and propose automatic corrections when inconsistencies are found.
Full integration with Sage for e-filing
Capsens goes beyond file generation.
 The service also includes automated e-filing via Sage, a DGFiP-certified solution for submitting IFUs.
This means companies benefit from a fully managed end-to-end service—from data preparation to official submission to the French tax authority.
 Clients no longer need to handle technical steps like format conversion, manual validation, or batch uploads: Capsens manages it all, providing complete tracking and a compliance report at the end of the campaign.
